There’s something special about Iceland that’s hard to explain until you experience it yourself. The landscapes feel raw and powerful, almost like you’ve reached the edge of the world. That feeling is especially strong on the black sand at Reynisfjara Beach, and even more so after a storm. That’s where this honeymoon session took place — dramatic, emotional, and completely unforgettable.

Where Wind, Waves, and Love Took Over

A stormy afternoon at Reynisfjara

The rain had just stopped when we arrived at Reynisfjara, the famous black sand beach near Vík. Water was still dripping from the cliffs, the basalt columns were dark and shiny, and the sand looked almost black from being soaked. Heavy grey clouds filled the sky, giving everything a moody, cinematic look. It wasn’t a sunny beach day, but honestly, it couldn’t have been more perfect.

A look that matched the landscape

Kayla stepped onto the beach in a white wedding dress, and for part of the shoot she added a hooded cape. Against the dark sand and dramatic sky, she looked strong, calm, and completely in her element. The contrast between her dress and the black beach was striking, and every photo felt powerful without needing anything extra.

Wind, waves, and real moments

The wind was strong, the waves were loud, and the ocean never stopped moving. They walked together along the shore, held hands near the crashing waves, and took quiet moments near the sea stacks. Instead of fighting the weather, they leaned into it — laughing, holding each other close, and fully present in the moment.
What made this session special wasn’t just the location, but how it felt. Wind, rain, salt in the air — and two people completely wrapped up in each other. That’s what turns photos into memories.
