Epic Full Day Elopement with glaciers and Vestrahorn mountain

We started this full day elopement adventure of Katie and Nick at sunrise next to the gorgeous Uxafótafoss waterfall located close to Vík. It was a beautiful and frosty October morning with blue skies and golden sunlight.

The next stop on our itinerary was the famous Yoda cave and the surrounding area which is as stunning as the cave itself.

Katie and Nick are in love with glaciers and mountains so we made sure to stop at one of the most impressive and photogenic glaciers on the South coast of Iceland - Svínafellsjökull glacier. The perfect reflection of the mountains in the lake made it a truly epic backdrop for our photos!

Standing next to a glacier with mountains behind is always a humbling experience which makes you feel really tiny and I believe that nothing can convey it better than a drone photo showing the scale of it.

After that we headed to a glacier lagoon that is less known than the popular Jökulsárlón. It’s called Fjallsárlón and it’s definitely less touristy than its famous neighbour. We were lucky on that day as there was a lot of ice in the lagoon and it looked absolutely mesmerising!

And when love is in the air you start seeing it everywhere, even in nature around you. Look at this cute heart shape on the glacier in the distance!

The final stop of our adventure was the most anticipated one - the black sand beach in Stokksnes with the majestic Vestrahorn mountain. Weather conditions in that location are often very unpredictable and we had been praying for good weather to all Icelandic gods and they definitely heard us! The plan was to be there just before the sunset to catch the last rays of the setting sun. Everything aligned perfectly and we simply couldn’t believe what we saw when we arrived there.

This was the perfect end of our elopement day and simply couldn’t have asked for more!
